Car
Swansea’s testing venue is based on Wind Street, in the city centre. The M4 motorway passes over the north of the city, and provides plenty of connecting routes towards the centre of Swansea. If possible, aim to take the A4083, as this offers the most direct route towards the test site.
Parking
There are plenty of local car parks in close proximity to Wind Street. The Strand charges just £2.40 for a two-hour parking ticket, which, given the car park’s location, provides enough time to head to the venue, conduct your examination, and return to your vehicle. Use Green Dragon Lane to help navigate the short, 150m route to the test centre.
City Gates car park is marginally more expensive, but positioned a similar distance away. Parking is charged at £1.75 per hour. To reach the test venue from here, head north on Little Wind Street, turning left at the end of the road onto Wind Street (B4489), and advancing west towards the test site.
For alternative local parking facilities, please head to the relevant Parkopedia page, located here.
Bus
Given the venue’s central location, there are numerous nearby bus routes in operation. If planning to take advantage of a service within Swansea’s local bus network, please aim to arrive at one of the following bus stops:
Sainsbury’s (either stop outside ‘Swansea’ or ‘St. Thomas’ store), St. Mary’s Church, or Castle Square. All of these stops are within a few minutes’ walk of the test centre.

Train
Swansea Train Station is situated on the northern outskirts of the city, approximately 650 away from the testing venue. Unfortunately, there are no appropriate connecting bus services between the station and Wind Street, so please complete the onwards journey to the test centre on foot. To do this, simply head south on the B4489, citing the venue on your left-hand side upon arrival. It will take roughly eight minutes to conduct this journey.
