Stratford Life in the UK Test Centre
Car
Stratford, located in London’s east end, is easily accessible via car or public transport. If planning to drive to the venue, please consider using either the M11 or M25 motorways, which both offer connecting routes directly into the centre of Stratford. The test venue resides within Boardman House, which sits adjacent to Stratford Shopping Centre, in the heart of Stratford.
Please note, there are two main shopping centres in Stratford, Westfield, and the aforementioned Stratford SC. Please ensure you don’t get these two mixed up!
There are plenty of parking options in close proximity to the venue. We’ve highlighted a couple below.
Stratford Multi-Story Car Park
The site is open all day, every day, and is located with Stratford Shopping Centre. Car Park charges are as follows:
- 1 hour = £2.30
- 2 hours = £4.60
- 3 hours = £5.80
- 4 hours = £9.20
If you’re planning to extend your stay in Stratford, and require longer parking coverage, there are overnight (£1.20) and 24-hour (£28.80) tickets available.
Unfortunately, this facility does not advertise accepted payment types, so it might be worth making sure you have the ability to pay by either cash or card. Disabled parking is accommodated at this site.
The test site is roughly a 650m walk away, located at the opposite side of the shopping centre. Please just walk around the building’s western perimeter and head towards ‘Broadway’ road.
Westfield Stratford City Car Park
This facility services Westfield Shopping Centre. Operational hours are Monday-Saturday, 5.00am-10.00pm, and Sunday, 7.00am-10.00pm. Parking costs are listed below (please note that weekend parking is slightly more expensive than the prices mentioned here):
- 1 hour = £3
- 2 hours = £6
After this point, any parking up to 14 hours is charged at a flat rate of £8.
This is a card-only site. Disabled spaces are available.
The venue is just over 1km from this car park. If walking, please head in a south-easterly direction, crossing over the rail tracks, and onto Great Eastern Road. Then, it’s again a walk around the Stratford Shopping Centre’s western perimeter to reach the test site. If you’d prefer to use public transport for this onward journey, the 241 Canning Town bus can be taken from Montfichet Road, which is located near Westfield Shopping Centre’s eastern entrance. Please exit at Stratford Broadway, a short, two-minute walk away from the test site.
If you would like to preview alternative parking options, please head to the relevant Parkopedia webpage, located here.
Bus
Unsurprisingly, there are numerous bus routes that pass through the centre of Stratford, and therefore there are good connections in close proximity to the test site itself. We’ve highlighted two of the main services, but please visit the Transport for London (TFL) website to plan your personal journey.
25: The number 25 heads in an east–west direction, travelling between Central London & Ilford. If using this service, please exit the bus at Stratford Centre bus stop. This is located just across the road from Boardman House.
308: This service operates between Lower Clapton and Wanstead, heading into Stratford around halfway through its route. Again, please exit at Stratford Centre stop.
Train
Stratford facilitates travel via overground, underground, or Docklands Light Railway.
Stratford Station welcomes both overground and underground services from across London. Its tube station is located on an intersection between Central and Jubilee Lines. Please note that this station sits directly adjacent to Stratford Shopping Centre, just across the A118 and in close proximity to the multi-story car park mentioned above.
For travel from further afield, Stratford International Train Station is a destination on many key train transit lines. For onwards travel to the site, please refer back to the Westfield Car Park instructions above, as this station is located just beyond the shopping centre’s northern perimeter.
Again, please visit the Transport for London (TFL) website. This will offer departure and arrival information, as well as reference the respective facilities at these stations.
