Car
Manchester’s testing venue is located within Boulton House on Chorlton Street, just on the south-eastern outskirts of the city centre. Given its size, there are multiple major routes into Manchester from all directions. These are often linked to the M60 Ring Road, which provides various onward connections towards the centre.
Parking
There is limited on-street parking on nearby Major Street, however, we would recommend having an alternative option in mind. This potentially could be 13 Bloom Street Car Park, which is conveniently located just behind Boulton House. A two-hour parking ticket costs £4.50, which will provide enough coverage to head to the test centre, conduct your exam, and return to your vehicle. Please note that this facility accepts either cash or ‘PayByPhone’ service line payments.
Chorlton Street Multi-Storey is located across the road from the test centre, but facilitates parking charges of £3.45 per hour. Therefore, given that this site is only metres away from the car park above, it’s more cost-effective to use 13 Bloom Street.

Bus
Unsurprisingly given its central location, there are a number of bus routes that pass in close proximity to Boulton House. If taking advantage of Manchester’s extensive local bus network, we would encourage you to target arrival at one of the following bus stops:
Chinatown, Dickinson Street, Major Street, or Hart Street. All of these destinations are within a few minutes’ walk of the test venue.

Tram
Manchester has a thriving tram network, facilitating travel in and around the city and beyond into Greater Manchester. The closest tram stop is St. Peter’s Square, situated around 650m west of Boulton House. Please note that this stop is accessible via Blue, Purple, and Navy lines. To reach the test centre from St. Peter’s Square, head south on Oxford Street, before turning left on Portland Street. Progress east for approximately 350m, before turning right onto Chorlton Street and advancing towards the venue.
Train
Manchester Piccadilly is the largest station in the city, and is a major UK transport hub. It’s also incidentally the closest station to the test site, positioned around 500m east of Boulton House. Exit the station by turning left on London Road, before immediately turning right at the Fairfield Street junction. Continue west as Fairfield Street merges into Chorlton Street, and advance onto the venue.
