Car
Leeds’s testing site is located just to the west of the city centre, in close proximity to the Town Hall. If driving, you’ll be able to gain easy access to this area of Leeds via the A58, which runs around the city’s western perimeter. The venue itself resides within the Oxford House building, on Oxford Row.
Please note that there are multiple nearby car parks. We’ve highlighted a couple of facilities, but please don’t hesitate to visit the relevant Parkopedia page for alternative parking options.
The Light Car Park
This large, multi-story car park is located around 500m from the test centre. This site is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. However, charges applied are relevant on the timing of your visit. Parking prices are listed below:
- Midnight-7.00am: £2.60 per hour
- 7.00am-10.00am: £3.30 per hour
- 10.00am-7.00pm: £3.50 per hour
- 7.00pm-Midnight: £3.30 per hour
Please note that if you require lengthy parking coverage, purchasing a 24-hour ticket may be more cost-effective. These are priced at £28.80.
This car park accepts cash and card (including contactless) payments, and the RingGo parking line is also in operation for those wishing to pay by phone. To use this platform, please either call 02030460010, or text 81025, referencing the car parks Location ID (40203).
Disabled spaces are available, and there are on-site electronic vehicle charging facilities at this car park. The venue is approximately a five-minute walk away, heading west on Great George Street, before turning left onto Oxford Row.
Leeds Beckett University – The Rose Bowl
This site is open between 6.00am and 1.30am, every day of the week. In similarity to The Light Car Park, it also has a payment structure which depends on the time of day (and, in this case, week).
Parking charges are as follows:
Monday-Friday, 6.00am-3.00pm: 1 hour = £1.90, 2 hours = £3.40, 3 hours = £4.90. Prices then rise gradually up to six hours coverage. Payments are capped at £16, so, if you require all-day parking, you’ll never pay over this threshold.
Charges after 3pm during the week, and on weekends, are slightly cheaper. In parking over three hours at these times, prices drop significantly versus the charges mentioned above.
Cash and card (including contactless) payments can be made at this site.
The venue is a 500m south-westerly walk away from this car park. Head beyond the Civic Hall and Millennium Square, before merging onto Portland Street which facilitates onwards travel to Oxford Row.
Bus
Given the test site’s central location, there are numerous bus services that pass extremely close to the venue. If using a local route, please aim for one of the bus stops mentioned below, as these are all located within a ten-minute walk of Oxford House.
‘Civic’ bus stops: There are multiple stops labelled under this name, dotted around The Headrow and Westgate. These are all within touching distance of the test centre.
South Parade: This stop is approximately 500m away from Oxford House. Head up South Parade onto Headrow, then progress westbound towards Westgate. On arrival to Westgate, turn right at the first junction, which will allow you to emerge onto Oxford Row.
City Square: Approximately 900m away from the venue, City Square is a stone’s throw away from Leeds Train Station. Therefore, please follow the guidance below for onwards travel to the test centre.
For alternative stops in walkable distance to the venue, and route information for local Leeds bus services, please visit Oxford Row’s ‘Moovit’ dashboard page.
Train
Leeds Train Station is just less than 1 kilometre from Oxford House. If walking, head north beyond City Square, onto Quebec Street, before turning right onto King Street. Progress northbound, as the road merges with East Parade. Follow this road all the way up to Headrow, then advance west onto Westgate. Again, on arrival to Westgate, take your first right to head towards the test centre.
There is a connecting bus service available, which will take you from the bus stop located on New Station Street (directly outside the front entrance to the station), up to the Civic bus stop on The Headrow. This is the number 5 (Electric) Leeds City Centre service.
