Directions

Car

Croydon’s testing venue is located within Grosvenor House on High Street, just to the south of the town centre. The building is located just off the A232, which provides access to the town for those approaching the town from the east or west. The A23 offers routes towards Croydon town centre for those travelling from areas north or south of the south London borough.

Parking

There are two suitable car parks stationed on Wandle Road, either side of the A232. The closest is also the least expensive, so we would recommend heading to this site, which is located on the same side of the A232 as the test centre. From this car park, a two-hour parking ticket costs £3.50, which will provide ample time to navigate to the venue, conduct your examination, and then return to your vehicle. This facility is literally round the corner from Grosvenor House, with the onwards journey to the test venue taking less than one minute to conduct.

The second Wandle Road Car Park, situated on the opposite side of the A232, charges £2.30 per hour for parking. Despite being slightly further away, the site is still extremely conveniently located, around 150m from the test centre.

For further local parking options, please head to the relevant Parkopedia page, located here.

Bus

There are numerous bus routes which pass in close proximity to Grosvenor House. If taking advantage of Croydon’s local bus network, please target arrival at one of the following bus stops:

Croydon Library, Croydon Flyover, Katharine Street, Coombe Road. All of these destinations are within a five minute-walk of the test site.

To plan your personal journey, please click the following link, and scroll down to the ‘bus lines’ section.

Tram

London Trams operates a line throughout south London, which visits Croydon en route. The closest tram station to the venue is Wellesley Road, just under a kilometre away from Grosvenor House.

Unfortunately, using any connecting bus service between the station and venue will result in the requirement of a lengthy walk between stops and buildings. We would therefore encourage you to progress on foot, as this is the most efficient way of reaching Grosvenor House. Head south through the town centre using Wellesley Road, St. George’s Walk and Mint Walk to merge onto High Street. The venue is around 300m south of this point, positioned on the left-hand side of the road.

Train

Croydon pis located over three overground train stations, all roughly equidistant to the test centre. East Croydon is the busiest station, and perhaps therefore the likeliest to accommodate your travel plans.

The station is approximately 1km north-east of the test centre. Connecting bus travel to Grosvenor House is available via the 466 Caterham service, which can be taken from outside East Croydon station to Coombe Road, which is a stop positioned 150m south of the test venue. Alternatively, the journey on foot takes you west along George Street and Park Street, before merging onto High Street and heading southbound to the test site. Regardless of whether you opt for the bus or choose to walk, the journey time from station to venue will be around ten minutes.
