Car
Cardiff’s testing venue is located within Trafalgar House on Fitzalan Place, which is located to the east of the city centre. The M4 motorway passes over the northern perimeter of the city, with connecting routes provided via the A48(M), A470, and A4232. The test centre is situated just off the A4161.
Parking
There is limited on-street parking on Fitzalan Road, just around the corner from the building entrance. However, we would encourage you to identify an alternative parking site prior to arrival. Knox Road Car Park is a reasonable option, conveniently located approximately 300m east of Trafalgar House. Parking is charged at £2.95 per hour, and all payment types are accepted at this facility.
Alternatively, you could visit Capitol Shopping Centre Car Park, which is located marginally further away. However, parking prices are slightly cheaper. The site charges £3.00 for a two-hour parking ticket, which will provide enough coverage to walk to the venue, conduct your examination, and return to your vehicle. To access the test centre, head north on Station Terrace, before turning right and advancing east on the A4161. After roughly 150m, turn right onto Fitzalan Place (A4160), and progress south towards the venue. It will take around seven minutes to complete this journey.

Bus
Given the test site’s central location, there are plenty of nearby bus routes in operation. If you’re planning to take a local cardiff bus, we would encourage you to target one of the following bus stops:
Fitzalan Place, West Grove, Meteor Court, or Dumfries Place. All of these stops are within a five-minute walk of Trafalgar House.

Train
Cardiff hosts two major train stations, Cardiff Central, and Cardiff Queen Street, with the latter positioned less than 500m away from the test centre. Cardiff Queen Street facilitates travel across much of South Wales and beyond, and also has regular services to Cardiff Central, which offers connections to destinations further afield.
Given that Cardiff Queen Station is situated just 50m east of Capitol Shopping Centre Car Park, please refer back to the travel guidance noted in the ‘Parking’ section above.
