Car
Belfast’s testing venue is located within Ormeau House on Ormeau Road (A24), just south of the city centre. Given the size of Belfast, there are numerous major routes into the city, including the M1, M2, and M3 motorways.
Parking
There is limited on-site parking available at Ormeau House, but also ample street parking on McClure Street, just around the corner from the building. If you’re struggling to find a space at these locations on test day, you may want to visit 18-20 Howard Street Car Park, which is situated around 500m north of the test centre. Parking here is charged at the very reasonable rate of £0.60 per hour, which can be paid for via cash or using the RingGo service line. Please also note that this site facilitates electronic vehicle charging.
To reach Ormeau House from here, simply head south on Ormeau Road (A24), citing the venue as it appears on your left-hand side.
Bus
There are plenty of operational bus routes in close proximity to the test centre. If taking advantage of Belfast’s local bus network, please target arrival at one of the following bus stops:
McClure Street, Shaftesbury Avenue, University Avenue, or Gasworks. All of these destinations are within a five minute-walk of the venue.
Train
There are four train stations situated in Belfast, with Botanic station the closest to the test centre. Although Botanic isn’t one of the two major stations in the city, it hosts services arriving from various parts of Northern Ireland.
Botanic station is around 650m west of Ormeau House. Exit the station by heading south on Botanic Avenue, before turning left onto Cameron Street. Progress eastbound, merging with McClure Street, before turning right onto Ormeau Road. The venue will be positioned on your right-hand side.
If your service arrives into one of Belfast’s larger hubs (i.e., either Great Victoria Street or Lanyon Place stations), we would encourage you to head directly to Ormeau House, rather than attempting to catch a connecting train to Botanic station. If not, you would add unnecessary additional time to your journey.
