Directions

Car

Aberdeen’s test venue is located within the North East Scotland College building on Loch Street (Gallowgate), just to the north-west of the city centre.  If travelling from a location west of Aberdeen, please use the A96 to navigate your way towards the city. Conversely, if approaching from the north or south, head for the A90 which provides good onwards connections towards the city centre.

Parking

There is limited on-street parking on Loch Street, and therefore securing a space on test day is far from guaranteed. We would recommend locating an alternative site prior to making your way towards the test site. Local parking options can be found on the relevant Parkopedia page, located here.

Given its reasonable charges and convenient location, we would encourage you to consider parking at West North Street, positioned just 500m north-east of the college building. A two-hour parking ticket is priced at £2.40, and will provide ample time to locate the venue, conduct your test, and then return to your vehicle. Please note that payment should be made by either cash or using the PayByPhone service line. Disabled parking and electronic vehicle charging facilities are both available at this site.

Bus

There are multiple bus transit lines which pass in close proximity to the test site. Ideally, utilize a service that has one of the following scheduled stops en route:

Seamount Road, Bon Accord Centre, Nelson Street. All of these bus stops are within a five-minute walking distance of Loch Street.

Train

Aberdeen Train Station is situated approximately a kilometre south of the college campus, and facilitates travel from locations across Scotland and several UK destinations.

Although connecting bus services towards the venue are available, given the walks required between building(s) and bus stop(s), we would suggest navigating the onwards journey to the test centre by foot. To do this, head northbound on the B983, before cutting through the city centre via Back Wynd and Harrier Street, before eventually merging onto Loch Street. Continue north, advancing straight over the roundabout and progressing towards the venue, which will be located on your right-hand side upon arrival.
